Itinerary
Our adventure begins early in the morning as we gear up to dive into the warm waters off the Kona Coast. We head to the pristine marine sanctuary of Kealakekua Bay, known as one of the best snorkeling spots in the world and home to the famous Captain Cook Monument.
As we cruise along the stunning Kona coastline, we’ll keep an eye out for Hawaiian spinner dolphins in their natural habitat, retreating to secluded coves after a night of hunting. Our journey into the open sea might even reward us with sightings of bottlenose dolphins, pilot whales, and spotted dolphins. And who knows? We might even spot a whale shark! During the winter months, we often see Humpback whales and their calves, which might treat us to some spectacular spouting and breaching.
When we reach Kealakekua Bay, you’ll have the chance to snorkel in clear, fish-filled waters, view vibrant coral reefs, and explore the marine life around the easily accessible Captain Cook Monument. We’ll provide snacks and drinks while sharing the intriguing stories of Captain Cook’s adventures. You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the water and the underwater sights.
On our way back, we’ll take in the dramatic cliffs and explore ancient coastal sea caves formed by lava flows, all while learning about Hawaiian history and myths. Join us for this memorable day of exploration and fun on our Captain Cook snorkeling tour.
